Affected by the joking of The Mothers Of Invention, Alice Cooper and the scandalous verses of 80s New Wave groups, for example, The Knack, The Tooners’ melodies aren’t reluctant to investigate some dim topics. The Tooners’ most recent single “Forgiving You” sounds playful and snappy, however underneath the surface sneaks the clouded side of enthusiasm. Possessiveness and sexual control are at the core of the force pop hit about a man who “excuses” his sweetheart for the most part so as to start “make-up sex.”
“Forgiving You” is the most recent single from The Tooners, the band that presented to you “The Babysitter”, “Womanizer” and “Got Off You.” from their last CD, Underground Comix. They might be symptomatic of the harmful manliness spinning out of control in the present society yet there sure is by all accounts there seems to be a crowd of people out there for them.
